In My Mailbox (imm) is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren, also known as Kristi. She has blond hair and a big black dog named Xander, who is approximately the size of a small duplex. She also runs a pretty nifty blog.
Because I’m never too shy to say that I’m spoiled rotten by anyone — let it be known that my workplace (in which I mean my brilliant coworker Emily) bought me a gift card to Amazon for my birthday this past week. It probably took a total of 30 seconds to spend all of it as soon as I hopped online. I’m currently on a book–buying ban for all of 2011, since I still have books I haven’t read from my first imm, as well as other books I purchased or borrowed from friends in 2010.
But gift card money is gift card money, plain and simple. It has the power to temporarily render a book buying-ban null and void. So I bought three books:
