shirley marr’s rejected fury covers

If you know me at all, you already understand that one of the quickest ways to my heart is through a sense of humor. (Candy is probably next in line, shortly followed by a certain degree of geekiness.)

So when this post was brought to my attention, I just had to share the love. In the post, author Shirley Marr gives readers a behind the scenes look of Fury’s cover, sharing over a dozen of the cover mockups, which I quite enjoyed.

Especially because she threw in some humor, too. Check out her captions!

Fury meets Dexter

Fury meets Grey’s Anatomy

And my personal favorite, Fury meets the Goth girls that always hang out under the shady bits out in the playground

And here’s the actual cover that made the cut, determined by a voting competition on the back of the URCs:

The photo was taken by the amazingly talented Pawel Piatek, from his Florence series. The final cover art’s come a long way from the Fury meets Grey’s Anatomy cover, no?

LOL at all those captions! I love the final cover of Fury. I’ve actually been curious about that book but I don’t think it’s available in local bookstores.

Wow, the final cover is really quite an improvement over all the others! Haha, I can definitely see the Grey’s Anatomy resemblance in that second one.
